About Us
Our Mission
- At the Katahdin German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Greater Portland, we are dedicated to promoting the breed and fostering a sense of community among owners. We provide resources, training, and support for all members to ensure the well-being of these wonderful dogs.
- Our members come from all over New England, with a heavy concentration in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Most field and training events are held at Sharps Farm, in Hopkinton NH, and bi-monthly meetings are held at various locations or via Zoom in southern New Hampshire. We offer an AKC hunt test every fall, with Junior, Senior and Master divisions at Sharpe's Farm, in Hopkinton NH. We also have a GSPCA Water Certificate test annually (In August 2025 this year, check calendar for dates) at the dike side of Sharpe's, a Specialty conformation show, and other events throughout the year, including field training days, supported entry dog shows, and an annual meeting in March.

About HELDCA
HELDCA is a group of bird dog clubs that run a variety of permitted field events on land leased from the Army Corps of Engineers in Hopkinton NH. Katahdin is a founding member of HELDCA. Documents of interest to HELDCA member clubs may be found and downloaded or printed below.
